Tak quality, very solid & Easy to use

By James A. Edwards on October, 17th 2009

This is a very good bracket for those that use the 7x50 finder scope...What I like the best is the plastic coated tips which dont solve the problem with leaving marks on your finder but certainly help quite a bit...Typical Tak finish and crafsmanship...As long as your dont abuse or overtighten the screws on your finder, its easy to use and solid! Finder Bracket

By Jerry Wise on October, 17th 2009

In the days of quick release finders this is a poor approach for a fine telescope. I bought it to get up and running quickly. I put an cheap right angle finder in it (fit fine). The rear screws have plastic, the front ones on mine did not. To take it off after observing you just undo the two allen screws holding the mount to the scope with an allen wrench.

Tak 7X50 Finder Bracket

By George Victor on October, 17th 2009

As nice as the Takahashi 7X50 Finder is, the Bracket stinks! It uses sharp metal screws that dig in and ruin the fine finish on the OTA. Also, there is no quick release system. My advice, if you buy the Finder, is to get another brand of Bracket.

In agreement: poorly designed.

By Vance Bagwell on October, 17th 2009

Im in agreement with the previous reviewer. The front adjustment screws are good for one thing...removing the smooth enamel finish from your f-scope. Wierd though, since the rear adjust screws are capped in plastic covers to prevent scratches. The whole design needs re-engineering. As pointed out by the first review, it needs to include some form of a quick-release for those times when you need to break down in a hurry. I am not holding my breath, since this quick-release adapter would obviously be sold seperately and be ridiculously expensive. Thanks!
