The straight-through viewing configuration of the PF-65ED II 65mm Spotting Scope with Zoom Eyepiece Kit from B&Hcombines fully multi-coated extra-low dispersion glass and a waterproof housing to create an optical device ready to perform in a wide range of conditions. The included 20-60x XF zoom eyepiece features multi-coated low-dispersion lanthanum-containing glass, a 42-60° apparent viewing angle, and a rubber eyepiece ring. Additionally, the eyepiece is compatible with PF-80/PF-100 series spotting scopes and telescopes with a 1.25-inch focuser. This objective assembly and eyepiece system is engineered to transmit bright images with minimal chromatic aberration and maximum detail. A 20-60x magnification range is well suited for intermediate- to long-range glassing applications.

The Pentax PF-65ED II Scope Body is designed for high-precision outdoor viewing. It has been improved over its predecessor by further minimizing color aberrations, resulting in truer colors.
This scope uses 1.25"-diameter eyepieces, which allow less compacting of the light shaft produced by the objective lens and thus a larger image with superior depth perception. This is a great feature, for in addition to the brilliant offerings from Pentax themselves it also means you can use the best of astronomy eyepieces from elite telescope manufacturers such as Meade, Celestron, and, of course, the venerable Tele Vues. The PF-65ED II has a focal length of 390mm, so if you're using conventional 1.25" eyepieces you divide 390mm by the focal length of your eyepiece to determine the effective magnification. The Pentax ED scope functions brilliantly in many conditions of light and climate and is remarkably light thanks to its metallic alloy housing.
Pentax's scopes are available in either a straight-viewing or angled-viewing configuration depending on your needs. This is a personal preference that cannot easily be defined for you without firsthand experience, but the conventional thinking is that the scopes with straight viewing are simpler for locating your subject.

Constructed with high-refraction, low-dispersion, multi-coated lanthanum glass optics, the SMC XF 6.5-19.5mm Zoom Eyepiece fits all Pentax spotting scopes for terrestrial viewing, and it can also be used with telescopes with 1.25" focusers. Its optics feature a Pentax SMC multi-layer coating to reduce glare while providing maximum light transmission and color quality. Advanced computer simulation design technology was developed to reduce internal reflections, producing brighter, clearer images.
The eyepiece offers 11-15mm eye relief for comfortable viewing and an apparent angle of view as wide as 60°. Built to Japanese Industrial Standards Class 4, it is weather resistant.
