The dew shield is the fundamental component of the passive dew prevention system. Astrozap Flexible Dew Shields are proudly manufactured in the USA of first-rate materials and craftsmanship. These dew shields are custom-designed and painted to approximate the style of telescopes made by Meade (including the new ACF series), Celestron (including the new HD series), and Takahashi (Epsilon Astrograph). Built from superb quality ABS-grade polymers with Velcro fasteners for a tight fit, the AstroZap FlexiShield features padding so the optical tube's finish does not incur any scratches or other damage. They roll up into a size convenient for portability to distant star parties and dark sky locations. AstroZap Flexi-Heat Dew Shields are unorthodox in that they use both active and passive methods of combating dew with the added bonus of protecting the telescope from objectionable stray light. Each Flexi-Heat Dew Shield incorporates a Dew Heater strap. When used in conjunction with the Astrozap Dual Channel Dew Controller or the DC Adapter, this Flexible Heated Dew Shield operates both active and passive dew combating methods to block dew from the telescope objective, thus prolonging valuable telescope time.
