Metal hand paddle with IN and OUT pushbuttons. Plugs into temperature probe connector on the focuser and allows for direct manual operation of the instrument. Connection is swappable. Default cable length is 3 feet.
For a long time, some of our customers have complained that the current "hand" control for the TCF-S is not well suited for manual control of the focuser at the telescope. Optec agrees with this conclusion.
To solve this problem, Optec has developed a remote IN/OUT pushbutton keypad that connects to the temperture probe connector located on the motor housing of the TCF-S. This pad is made from 6061 alloy aluminum and anodized red to match the Paramount. The choice of red is to really allow for greater visibility in finding the thing in a darkened observatory. It measures 1 x 1 x 6 inches in size and has a stainless hook to attach to some part of the scope such as the grab handle on the back of the Meade telescopes. The IN and OUT pushbuttons are located next to each other in a verticle alignment. Both can be operated with the thumb of one hand. The connection is hot swapable so the temperature probe or keypad can be connected at any time. When using the keypad, the temperature compensation and PC serial functions are disabled. This accessory item is just for manual control and the LEARN or other serial operations will have to be done as before.
