Description

This picture of Orion setting over Mount Whitney was taken from the Alabama Hills where all the movies are made. It is close to Lone Pine in the eastern Sierra. The picture captures the Winter Milky Way and the Zodiacal Light. A 3 minute tracked exposure was made of the sky with a Canon Ra and the 16-35mm f/4 lens set to 20mm. The land was a non-tracked image and was combined in PS so that everything is sharp.
