This image of a portion of NGC 1977 was taken on a night of relatively good seeing using a 20in RCOS telescope and an ST10 CCD camera. Note that at high resolution this nebula begins to resolve into its filamentary/striated nature. Unfortunately, at only 30 minutes of exposure time little more could be done during processing.
