This image was taken as part of Don McCarthys astronomy camp (www.astronomycamp.org). I suggested to the campers to combine luminance data taken from the 60in telescope (and a very very nice professional chip) and a 12in LX200. Much of the field away from the galaxy was colored using DSS2 data. It took me (Adam Block) over 20 hours to create this. Fringing in the luminance data was a big hurdle to overcome.
