• Baader 1.25" Double Stacked 8 nm Solar Continuum Filter. 540 nm CWL.

• This filter contains two stacked Baader Solar Continuum Filters in one filter cell to enable higher contrast. Includes 200 mm x 290 mm AstroSolar® Film sheet with 3.8 ND.

• Boosts contrast while reducing the impact of atmospheric turbulence.

• It is required that this 1.25" Solar Continuum Filter be used in conjunction with either a Baader Herschel Wedge or Baader AstroSolar Safety Film 5.0 (sold separately) for solar viewing to avoid equipment damage. The AstroSolar Photo Film included with this filter is ND 3.8 and must not be used only for solar photography (e.g. Lucky imaging) and not for visual purposes.

Baader's Double Stacked Solar Continuum Filter guarantees highest contrast in the sun's photosphere. It serves as a monochrometer by reducing the impact of atmospheric turbulence for notably sharper images. SCT and refractor owners will benefit from the full exclusion of red and blue wavelengths, with the transmission area topping out at 535 nm where telescope optics are at their sharpest and chromatic aberration free.

The combination of Baader AstroSolar® Photo Film ND 3.8 and 1.25" Solar Continuum Filter must only be used for solar photography at high magnifications. This unit tends to capture the most exact solar surface detail and granulation at severely high magnification while allowing very short exposures measured in milliseconds in order to inhibit atmospheric turbulence.
