The all new HyperStar 14 system allows extremely fast, wide-field CCD imaging with the Celestron 14" SCT. The lens replaces the secondary mirror on Fastar-compatible 14" SCTs and turns the telescope into an f/1.9 imaging system! In addition to allowing fast CCD imaging, the HyperStar 14 is also compatible with large-format CCD cameras, such as the SBIG ST-10XME and ST-2000ME.
In addition to providing ultra-fast f/1.9 CCD imaging using Fastar-compatible 14" Celestron SCTs, the new HyperStar 14 allows for the use of large-format CCD cameras. Imagine capturing wide-field CCD images in just a matter of seconds!
The HyperStar 14 utilizes an advanced optical design, optimized for wide-field, fast CCD imaging. The focal length of the 14" SCT is reduced to 675mm--a great match for small-pixel CCDs. The resulting flat field provides tack-sharp star images across the full field of CCD chips up to 15mm wide!
