Exquisite astrophotos of starfields
While this 64 page HB is pricey for its size, the full color photos and charts throughout are the reasons why. What this work features that many do not are actual, full color astrophotos of whole regions of the summer night sky, with dozens of deep sky objects labeled. For me, the several wide angle astrophoto close ups included are worth the price of the book. These focus on rich areas like the Summer Triangle, Scorpius and Saggitarius regions. I live in light polluted East suburbia. When I visit a dark site and see the Milky Way in its full splendor, I like to use these pictorials to show me where these objects are in the scheme of things. I find the exquisite photos more compelling than charts. Concise practical infomation is also included. Target audience is the casual binocular and small telescope user. Its subtitle A Practical Guide for Recreational Astronomers is spot on. Well worth it, if you desire this level of graphical presentation.
