Expensive but worth it
I went through a long way before setting down with my TEC160FL. I always had second thought after buying something expensive but not for my TEC160FL.

Stunning optics and fast cool down. The oil-spaced design works pretty well to track the dropping temperature. Star-test is text book like and very minimum spurious color could be seen on Vega using over 300x power. I think the color-correction is almost reflector like.

The tube is light weight and very back-friendly in this regard. The build quality is first rate though I wish it even better or on par with the Astro-physics OTA.

The only reason I can think of to part with the 160FL would be buying a 180FL.

Amazing
Expensive for the aperture, that is true.  But, I am now a visual user as well as an imager.  Planets and double stars are amazing.  My 4th (and last?) TEC scope.  Well done once again Yuri and team TEC!

Incredible!!!!
Hard to describe performance vs. what is no doubt an expensive scope.  I never thought a 160mm scope could show as much planetary detail and it also performed way beyond my expectations for DSOs.  Splits doubles like nothing Ive seen before in this size range.  I would say this is my lifetime scope.  Being my 4th TEC scope I still dream of putting a 200mm FL in an observatory some day.  The 160FL performs (IMO) very close to its big brother 200ED version.  You wont be disappointed!
