We have watched the squirrels fly off the feeder and then be reluctant to approach again. The only concern we have is the battery seems not to hold a charge after only two years of use. We have used two battery systems so far.

Yankee Whipper
This is a quality, well made feeder. The feeding ports have an intellegent design thats easy to maintain. This is a feeder thats large and holds lots of seed, so its not for whimpy pole mounts. Get a good sturdy pole and anchor it well and youll have lots of birds visiting your yard!

Yankee Whipper is worth the money
Neither squirrels nor racoons have a chance of getting at the food. Also, this is one tough feeder. Mine is hanging from a shepherds hook. One morning I discovered that something (a huge racoon, bear, perhaps) had bent the pole over. The feeder was lying on the ground, a bit scratch, but fully intact. My only complaint about the design is that this feeder is not exactly easy to clean. Otherwise, I love it. So do the cardinals, titmice, goldfinches, black-capped chickadees, and so on. (oh, another plus -- doves are too heavy to use it)
