At least once a week we receive a call, and an individual asks the question, "Whats the difference between Mylar (film) solar filters and Glass Solar filters?". From a visual perspective there is not much of a difference, durability is the "biggie" so to speak. If you were to compare the Mylar filters on the market to ALL the Glass Solar filters on the market, it would hit you like a ton of bricks. Glass solar filters are manufactured to with stand a little abuse (but try to avoid). Cosmetically, they are just more pleasing to the eye. So in a nutshell, aesthetics and durability are the main differences in the 2 (two) types.
J.M.B solar filters are manufactured to strict quality control standards, making them one of the best values on the market today. In both performance and appearance, our quality shows.
All Identi-View™ glass solar filters feature a unique color code band around their diameter making identification of the filter class and use quick and easy.
Class "A" filters are made with the same premium quality polished glass and multi coating as class "B". An additional steel alloy added to the coating process make our Class "A" filters our biggest seller. Excellent for visual and photographic use. Light transmission is 1/1000th of 1%. Neutral density - 5. We are so confident in this filter that J.M.B. offers a lifetime warranty on this particular filter.
It should be stated that this is a "No excuse will be turned down" warranty.
