PlaneWave Instruments Ascension 200HR German Equatorial Mount

Manufacturer : PlaneWave Instruments
Part Number : A200110

PlaneWave Instruments is proud to introduce the Ascension 200HR German Equatorial Mount, designed to give peerless performance with up to 250 pounds of payload. The Ascension 200HR is additionally equipped with state-of-the-art high-resolution encoders on each axis that correct for residual mechanical errors including PE and DEC backlash, thereby enabling long, unguided exposures.

PlaneWave Instruments is proud to introduce the Ascension 200 and the Ascension 200HR German Equatorial Mounts. Both mounts are designed to give peerless performance with up to 250 pounds of payload. Both use 360-tooth, 12.1 inch diameter RA and DEC gears, have built-in homing sensors on each axis, and are supplied with permanent periodic error correction and a hand pad. The Ascension 200HR is additionally equipped with state-of-the-art high-resolution encoders on each axis that correct for residual mechanical errors including PE and DEC backlash, thereby enabling long, unguided exposures.

A200 Test Image
Test Image of M1 (The Crab Nebula)

5 images combined, Each 300 second UNGUIDED EXPOSURE

Equipment: A200HR Mount, CDK17 OTA, STL1100 Camera, Baader 7nm H-alpha Filter
Location:Torrance, California (Los Angeles County)
Note: The image is dim due to the Narrowband Filter used to keep the brightest stars from saturating.

The Ascension 200 and 200HR are excellent mounts for both permanent observatories and portable applications. Modularity makes the mount easily transportable for field work, breaking down into three components. The heaviest component is 85 pounds.

The PlaneWave Instruments Ascension 200 and 200HR mounts are beautifully machined and finished, featuring powder-coated aluminum with stainless steel complements.

Included:

  • EQ Head
  • Sidereal Tech Control System
  • Control Software and Driver
  • PlaneWave 7.65 inch Saddle - or - PlaneWave's tilt-in saddle for Losmandy style 3-inch dovetail plates
