JMI Motofocus for Meade Cassegrain Using Meade Focus Control Hand Unit

Manufacturer : JMI
Part Number : MFLX200

Motofocus for Meade Cassegrain using Meade Focus Control hand unit.   Fits LX5, LX6, LX100, LX200 (non-GPS versions), Premier.

This MOTOFOCUS unit plugs into the telescope base allowing control from the Meade hand unit, with the following restrictions:  Our hand units include an electronic brake which stops the motor as soon as you quit pressing the keys.  Meade systems do not include this brake.  Older LX200 telescopes do not have enough power on the low setting to run a MOTOFOCUS unit.  The high setting works fine and you can vary the speed using the variable-speed feature of the MOTOFOCUS unit itself.

This is a Push-On style MOTOFOCUS designed for the Meade Cassegrain with a factory hand control.  A replacement knob is attached along with a special collar.  The sleeve of the MOTOFOCUS goes over the collar where a thumb screw holds it in place.  Inside the sleeve a coupler with an internal o-ring slides over the replacement knob.  This coupler is what turns the knob.  The LX hand unit will control the JMI MOTOFOCUS.   After initial installation it can be removed and reinstalled in just seconds.

Fits LX5, LX6, LX100, LX200 (non-GPS versions), Premier.   This product (part number MFLX200) does NOT work with the Meade LX200GPS
