Mighty Mismarked Monocular
While Brunton marks and markets the Echo 7x18 as having a field of view that is only 3.5 degrees, a few idle moments under the night sky demonstrate that it will show Phad (Gamma Ursa Minor) and Merak (Beta Ursa Minor) in the same field. As these two stars are about 8.0 degrees apart, the true field of this mighty, mismarked monocular seems to be more than TWICE the advertised value, giving it an apparent field of about 56 degrees! This makes it even more useful for casual observing than you might think. Sure, it wont replace a pair of binoculars, but as a two ounce, carry everywhere optic, its hard to beat.

But be careful
So small, its easy to leave it in a jacket pocket, and then toss the jacket in the washing machine.....oops.

Great for the price
An ultra-handy and affordable pocket optic for birds, bugs, and/or flowers. The optical quality is better than I expected for such an inexpensive roof prism device.
