Mewlon 250S
How many scopes have I been through trying to find the Just Right One? Have you ever asked yourself that question? If so the Mewlon 250S is the scope that will end your quest, it did mine. I have been through the high end refractors which do a beautiful job but dont gather enough light. How about SCTs you say. Well Ive had 8 through 16 Schmidts. Nice scopes but once you get over 10 really hard to move about, the stars are blobs and the scopes lack contrast. Newtonians and Dobs are very nice but require a lot of room, you need a ladder most of the time and trying to drive one is a task. Along came the Mewlon. Wow! Contrast, pinpoint stars, portability, light gathering and SUPURB optics. Takahashi has hit a home run with this scope. You will hear people say the Dall-Kirkham design has coma problems. Takahashi has created a design that ELIMINATES coma in this scope. Visual deep sky observing is fantastic. No its not an f/4 but I very seldom fill the EP with an object anyway. The contrast and color for planetary is, in my opinion, better than the three high end refractors Ive had and sent down the road. Yes, the Mewlon is pricy, but how much have you spent buying and selling scopes in your search for the perfect all around scope. Check out cloudy nights revues on this scope. You will not be disapointed. I may own other scopes in the future but they will be in addition to the Mewlon not replace it.

Simply put? Its an Incredable Scope!!!
Being the first to adapt a Mewlon 250 into tube rings (BRC 250s), I can say in all honesty I had no idea Takahashi would adapt my prototype with the release of the New 250 S version. Please read my article on Astromart, or my review here to get an acurate discription on how incredable this scope truly is. For anyone looking for a light weight medium size scope with superior optical quality, which is easy to transport and adapt to a medium sized EQ mount, then look no futher then the 250. This is the scope for you!
