Title: 3D pairs of Jupiter
Comment: I have taken 3D pairs of Jupiter by taking pictures 10 minutes apart. The planets rotation gives an image for each eye. To view the pairs have to be placed next to each other with the bands horizontal. Then cross your eyes until the two images (or use a stereo viewer).If done correctly Jupiter will appear as a ball floating in space. If it appears to be concave, swap the two pictures. Doing this, you can even tell the dark bands are lower in the atmosphere than the lighter bands.I suspect the two photos shown here (07-30-10) would work if each image was tilted until the bands are horizontal. In short, the rotation of the planet has to be in the same plane as your eyes for this to work.I have made similar 3D pairs of the moon by taking photos, under closely matching lighting conditions, but at different positions in the moon's libration cycle. The exposures were months apart.
