PlaneWave Instruments
PlaneWave Instruments was founded in 2006 by Richard Hedrick and Joseph Haberman, two former telescope engineers at Celestron, one of the largest telescope manufacturer worldwide. Richard Hedrick brings over 21 years of telescope design experience. As former Chief Technology Officer and previous owner of Celestron he was responsible for developing Celestron’s award winning Schmidt-Cassegrain computerized telescopes. Joseph Haberman has over 20 years of experience in telescope design and worked at Celestron as an optical engineer and master optician. Getting a product like the CDK into the hand of serious imagers and amateur astronomers has been a shared vision of Hedrick and Haberman for many years. An L shaped bracket that attaches in four different places on the back of any of the CDK models. This is used to mount a finderscope or some other accessory. Two 1/4-20 screws provided attach the bracket to the backplate of the telescope and two 10-32 threaded holes spaced at 1.450" can be used to mount accessories too.

CCD Adapter, SBIG STL to PlaneWave SecureFit: An adapter that is used in conjunction with Secure Fit CCD Spacer to attach to a PlaneWave CDK telescope. The adapter bolts to the SBIG STL camera and bolts to the PlaneWave Secure Fit CCD Spacer for a solid secure mounting.

CCD Adapter, Apogee to PlaneWave SecureFit: An adapter that is used in conjunction with Secure Fit CCD Spacer to attach to a PlaneWave CDK telescope. The adapter bolts to the Apogee Alta camera body or an FW filter wheel and bolts to the PlaneWave Secure Fit CCD Spacer for a solid secure mounting.

CCD Adapter, PlaneWave SecureFit or 3.5" Hedrick Focuser to Fingerlakes Male Thread: An adapter that allows the use of Fingerlakes accessories. The adapter has male Fingerlakes threads (3-24 see drwg) on one side and can be bolted to either the 3.5" Hedrick Focuser or a SecureFit CCD spacer.

2" CCD Spacer: A CCD Spacer that accepts a standard 2" barrel. These come in lengths of 3.8", 3.3" and 2.8". The back focus of the CDK20 is 5.8" from the racked in focuser and the focuser has 1.3" of travel. To choose the correct spacer, you want the back focus of your camera plus path length of any other accessory plus the CCD spacer to be between 4.8 and 5.8".

Adapter, 3.5" Hedrick Focuser to 2.7" AP Threads (only for CDK17 and CDK20): This adapter bolts onto the back of the Hedrick 3.5" Focuser and provides female Astrophysics threads for use with AP accessories.
